KALAI Presents – Soulful melodies of Indian classical music by Nordic artists – 17th May. 2025

Join us for a mesmerizing Hindustani musical afternoon on 17th May from 12:30 to 14:30 in Aarhus, featuring an exceptional trio of musicians from across Scandinavia.

Get ready to enjoy the interplay of Patrick Vedlog’s bamboo flute, Moa Danielsen’s santoor, and Gabriel Svastha’s tabla creating a mesmerizing tapestry of sound, blending melody and rhythm in perfect harmony. Experience Patrick’s ethereal bansuri melodies as they weave effortlessly through Moa’s shimmering, cascading santoor, while Gabriel’s tabla anchors the journey with its intricate, dynamic rhythms, creating a spellbinding musical tapestry.

Audience: Concert is targeted to adults only. However, kids can come along with adults if he/she can keep silence. Seat booking (Ticket) is required for kids as well.

Ticket prices :

  • Premium seats price (seats close to the stage): 150 Kr. (Limited seats)
  • Regular seats (rest of the seats) : 125 Kr.

  • Student/Youth (up to 18 years) price (Regular seats): 50 Kr. (Only for College & University students. Need to present valid Student ID)
  • Group discount: Buy 5 tickets with 30% discount. Price: Regular seats: 437 Kr. , Premium seats: 525 Kr.
  • KALAI members: 30% discount to members only. Valid for Premium & Regular seats only. Not valid for Student/Youth/Group tickets. Any guest / kid of KALAI members is not eligible for this offer.

Payment mode: Please pay online for registration while making your booking.

Parking: Government free parking available around the venue. There are paid basement parkings in DOKK1. 

Outside food/drink: It is strictly prohibited to bring any food/drink from outside into the Concert hall. Please bring water in your reusable bottle.

Alcohol: Consumption of alcohol in/around the venue area is strictly prohibited.

  1. Possibility to upgrade regular seats to premium seats – by paying the difference : depends on premium seats availability
  2. There are separate playground areas at the venue for kids.

KALAI – Dandiya Night 2024

⭐ Get Ready for a Mesmerising Dandiya Night! ⭐

Pick up your Dandiya sticks and prepare to dance the night away! 🤩

KALAI is excited to invite you to “KALAI Dandiya Night 2024” – a night bursting with vibrant colors, energetic beats, and irresistible food.

Enjoy a feast of delicious Indian cuisine, mouthwatering snacks, and refreshing drinks at our food stalls—perfect for keeping your energy up for non-stop dancing.

Dandiya is a traditional folk dance performed during the nine days long festival called Navratri (Nine nights). Dandiya is usually performed in a group with decorated wooden sticks, which are used as props.

 If you have no experience with Dandiya dance, don’t worry, all you need to bring is charm to dance and a big appetite.

Venue: AIS – Aarhus International School, Dalagas Avenue 12, 8000 Aarhus C.

Date/Time: Saturday 5th Oct 2024 from 16:30 till 20:00

Entry Fee: 50 Kr. for Non KALAI members, 40 Kr. (20% discount) for KALAI members & 35 Kr. for Youth (12-18 years), Students & Pensioner. Children below 12 years old have free entry.  Note that Entry fee is non-refundable.

Payment mode: Online registration. If we have place available on the date of event then you can pay using Mobilepay, Credit/Debit Card or Cash at the venue.

KALAI Celebrating India’s 78th Independence Day 2024

🇮🇳Celebrate the Spirit of Freedom: India’s 78th Independence Day🇮🇳

KALAI cordially invites you all to come together to celebrate the anniversary of our nation’s freedom. Let us all express our heartfelt gratitude and salute the brave martyrs who sacrificed their lives for India’s freedom.🙏

Please note that this is a public event open for everyone.

📅 Date and Time: Saturday, 17th August 2024, 14.00 to 19.30

🏡 Venue: Sølystskolen Egå Havvej 5, 8250 Egå

The celebration will include the following activities.

  • Cultural Performances: Enjoy patriotic dances, music, and drama/skit.
  • Patriotic Songs: Sing along to your favorite national songs.
  • Inspirational Speeches: Hear from esteemed guests and community leaders.
  • Fancy Dress: Witness Kids and adults dressed up as Freedom fighters/Kings/Queens who contributed to India’s independence.

You can send entries for below:

  • Skit: 15-20 mins
  • Dance (group/solo): 5 min max
  • Singing (group/solo): 5 min max
  • Fancy Dress for both adults and kids

Vocal Concert – Saniya Patankar, Suvrat Apte & Aarti Kharwandikar – 18th May. 2024

KALAI gladly presents a mesmerising concert featuring the incredible vocalist Saniya Patankar, known for her captivating performances in the realm of classical music. Joining her on stage is the masterful tabla player Suvrat Apte, renowned for his unparalleled skill and mastery over this ancient instrument. Adding to the harmonious ensemble is the talented Sangeet Visharad Aarti Kharwandikar whose enchanting harmonium melodies will grace the stage! 

Adorning the stage on 18th May 2024, this concert will be a celebration of musical unity, cultural richness and artistic brilliance, as the artists will weave together a tapestry of music that will leave a lasting impression on our hearts and minds.

After the grand success 🙌 of last year’s SASYA UTSAV, KALAI is back again with “ SASYA UTSAV 2024: The Festival Of Harvest ”. KALAI is very delighted to invite you all to this harvest festival which is celebrated across India under various names.

Regional dance performances  would be one of the biggest attractions of the Saya Utsav Event. But this time the event’s showstopper would be “Fancy dress for Kids”.  KALAI invites all the children participants to come dressed in the beautiful ethnic dresses of their state/region and be a part of our Fancy dress Show. If you are interested in performing a Regional Group dance based on Sankranti songs/folk dance from a particular state or would like to present a small skit depicting how Sankranti is celebrated in your state, then please send your entries to events@kalai.dk on or before 20th December. Please include a brief description of the performance, number of performers, their names and the duration.
